I setup a network boot server this week to help me with reinstalling operating systems and repairing broken ones. So i don’t have to worry about a cd or dvd being scratched.
I like it as of right now i can install Windows 2000/2003/XP over the network going to make it automated here shortly make it so it doesn’t as any questions. so i don’t have to click as much
I also set it up so i can do more then install i can boot right off the network and have no reason to install a harddrive or anything in that computer or use it to boot up well i’m repairing the main harddrive. But right now i have setup in the system.
I’m going to be adding these
There will probably be more
I will be posting more i’m sure If anyone is interested and i can find the time i may make a walk though on how i did it for each one.

Hi Steven ,
I was trying to setup a network boot server and i came across you blog. I’m interested on how you run DSL over network .
I am very new to linux and haven’t succeeded to setup a network boot server yet (trying with tftp dhcp and cobbler, still no success ) .
I have already succeeded a project turning DSL into a USB image installer. I give it to the technicians, they plug it into some hardware we support, and install image automatically. I want to use it on local network here, to install them via network boot.
Simply, the thing I want to learn is : how to set up a network boot server (i have RHEL and Fedora ) from scratch (including DHCP and TFTP setup ) which can run/boot DSL live over network .
Thanks in advance.
do you still need help setting up a network boot server. Sorry i have been so busy lately i hadn’t had a chance to check on my blog.
